Much more than 20 bucks wasted…

Once upon a time there was a guy named Gustavo, who came to visit a friend of mine for a weekend. Since the beginning he as telling us that he’d like to go out clubbing, even though it’s not our favorite thing anymore. Well, Saturday in a town like LA, you obviously would find many options, but for us, two girls that are kind out of the circuit, it took a little longer to find a place to hang out.
My friend, Daniela, and Gustavo went to pick me up at work Saturday night and because we were Downtown, we decided to stay in the area. Turns out we went to LA LIVE, a really cool place that I didn’t know yet. After searching the bars and clubs, Gustavo decided for us that we (he) would go to “The Conga Room”, which had a Venezuelan band called “Los Amigos Invisibles” playing.
First of all, they charged us U$ 20 each just to get into. Then, when we entered the place, I immediately gave the look to Dani like someone who was saying “what’s this? Are you serious”? The place was full but now crowded, but not interesting at all. I mean, The Conga Room is a nice club and well decorated, that’s it. The people and the music didn’t help in anything. Ugly people all around. From almost a thousand people there, only one guy caught my attention. Only one!!
The worse was definitely the music. Terrible! Neither the band couldn’t make me feel like dancing nor the DJ. Within five minutes that we were there, we went to check it out the DJ, who only put on old songs in the most diverse genres. Gustavo, on the other hand, was enjoying every minute. It was fun to watch him. When Dani and I couldn’t stand the DJ anymore, we came back to see the band again. One more time I was standing just watching the people, without moving myself. The contradictory thing is that I love dancing, but that music didn’t set the mood for me. It wasn’t really working.
So, we decided to take a break from everything and just relaxed at the balcony. Fun wasn’t over, though. While Gustavo was all over the place, having the time of his life, my friend and I were laughing at pretty much everything and everyone who crossed our eyes. That was the excitement of the night! Shortly after, we heard the band saying good-bye, which I was so happy it was over and I could call a night. Bottom line is, from my perspective, 20 dollars thrown in the trash can. It wasn’t worth it, too band from a place which has totally the potential to do better.
